Aurelia lodge is pleased to offer the opportunity to fish many miles of privately accessed water on the internationally acclaimed Rio Grande, and Rio Menendez rivers, while enjoying the comforts of Aurelia Lodge, and the warm hospitality of its staff.

Aurelia Lodge can comfortably accommodate 12 guests in 5 double-rooms, one of which is a very large suite and is ideal for families of up to 4 people. The number of rods, however, may not exceed 8 licensed anglers.

The estancia house was totally renovated in 2005 into a fishing lodge, allowing anglers and guests to enjoy spacious rooms, large and fully appointed private bathrooms, a warm and welcoming reception areas, and a fine dining room with a great view. An indoor barbecue and bar area (quincho) is a casual lounge with a pool table and a fly-tying area, and makes a great place to enjoy the traditional Patagonian Lamb cook by our chef, who specializes in argentine food.

We also provide recreational options for non-fishing guests such as horseback riding, sightseeing of the abundant local wildlife (numerous flocks of wild geese, plentiful herds of "guanacos" a species of the cameloids, grey foxes, diverse hawks, condors, seagulls and other birds) as well as visits and photographic safaris to beaver lodges and dam sites.

The properties include 6 miles on the Río Grande plus 15 miles of river on its principal tributary, the Río Menendez, which is also home to comparably fine fishing and similar opportunities to catch quality sea-run browns. Aurelia Lodge´s stretches of these rivers presents a diversity of pools, runs, and challenges that will please every fly fisherman. Every year many fish in the 6 to 28 pound range are landed at Aurelia Lodge´s sections of both rivers, and under normal conditions average daily catches per rod are between 3 to 4 fish in the 9 to 15 pound weight range plus some trophy fish weighing as much as 30 pounds.
